Cloud service pioneer Salesforce is going to run two Super Bowl ads. The Salesforce Super Bowl ads will mark the first ever TV ads for Salesforce. The Wall Street Journal reports that Marc Benioff, CEO of salesforce.com wants to make a big splash with the ads. He hired Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am for the ads. will.i.am created for Salesforce the Baby Peas, a group of animated characters representing the Black Eyed Peas.
Coincidentally the Black Eyed Peas also are the Super Bowl 2011 halftime show act. The ads will even run directly before and after the Super Bowl halftime show. I am sure that costs extra. will.i.am is pretty active in the tech world these days. Earlier this week we reported that he got hired by Intel. Saleforce is actually a B2B company, which seems to be at odds with advertising during the Super Bowl. Saleforce wants though to promote a software service they are offering called Chatter. Chatter is similar to Facebook and lets employees connect with each other inside company walls.
Salesforce is supposed to release a new version and makes it also a free service. The company will also launch a site at chatter.com.
Just like last year, I4U News will be featuring again the Super Bowl for Geeks Guide. Of course the Super Bowl 2011 for Geeks Guide will be all about the Super Bowl Commercials and not the big game. The Super Bowl XLV will take place in the Dallas Cowboys stadium on February 6th 2011.
