Gefen has announced a couple new long range extenders for HDMI that will shoot the video over CAT5 cable for up to 100M. The new extenders are the GefenPRO ELR Extender for HDMI over CAT5 with POL I and the other has the same name but is POL II.
The POL II device is exactly the same as the other but adds the ability to put one additional HDMI input at the display side. All HDMI features are supported by the extenders including 3D content, deep color, lip sync and audio delay.
The extenders have an IR remote, RS-232 control and Ethernet with all functions working over the single CAT5 cable. Pricing on the devices isn’t announced, but they will be expensive.
