Yesterday Volkswagen has published both of their 2011 Super Bowl ads online. The Star Wars inspired VW commercial featuring a mini Darth Vader has gone viral. The Force Volkswagen ad has already over 1 million views on Youtube. Unruly Media's Viral Video Chart has the Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial also ranked as most shared.
In the 2012 Passat Super Bowl ad Volkswagen brings Star Wars to the Super Bowl. Accompanied by John Williams' iconic "The Imperial March," the spot features the most infamous villain in the galaxy, a pint-sized Darth Vader, who uses the Force when he discovers the all-new 2012 Passat in the driveway. The two iconic brands leverage humor and the unforgettable Star Wars score to create an emotional spot and make Super Bowl ad history.
It clearly has already paid off for Volkswagen to unleash their Super Bowl ads early. The other VW Super Bowl ad is though not doing that great. The Black Beetle Super Bowl Ad only clocked around 100,000 views so far.
The Volkswagen Super Bowl 2011 Commercial will reach 10 million views today, one day before the Super Bowl XLV.
24 hours later and the Volkswagen The Force Star Wars Super Bowl Commercial has almost 4 million views.
