The iChair iPhone 4 case is a slim hard shell case for the iPhone that has a stand on the back to prop the phone up. The little stand works in both portrait and landscape modes. The case comes in black with a spare slider in either white or blue colors. The sliders let you make a case with more than one color. You can buy the iChair iPhone 4 case now for $39.
I have a bunch of cases for the iPhone 4 around here and the iChair iPhone 4 case is one of the more interesting cases I have tried. The case is made from a hard plastic material rather than silicone. I like the hard plastic better because the case is a bit more slippery and easier to get in and out of the pocket while driving if you need to. The case has a soft touch finish and adds very little bulk to the iPhone.
The front of the case has a small raised lip on it to keep the iPhone screen off the surface if you put it face down. The iChair iPhone 4 case also ships with protectors for the front and back of the iPhone to prevent scratches and a squeegee to apply the films along with a cloth to clean any fingerprints off.
The iChair iPhone 4 case I tested came with the solid black case and a white extra slider so you can get a bit more color if you want. The real news here isn’t the construction or what the case comes with in its bundle, but the little stand on the back.
That little stand is designed so you can prop the iPhone 4 up in portrait or landscape modes. The portrait mode is perfect for FaceTime calls and other use. The landscape mode is excellent for being able to watch video or read hands free. I love this case for standing it on the dash of my car when I wait for my kids to get out of school.
The iPhone 4 tilts back enough that it doesn't tip over and not so much that it's hard to see. The angle is perfect for me. The case leaves all of the ports open and uncovered. The case is also thin enough that I can dock my iPhone 4 with the case on using my iHome alarm clock dock. The opening on the left side for the controls is large enough that the iChair iPhone 4 case will fit the AT&T iPhone and Verizon iPhone 4 smartphones.
The only downside I can see to this case is the price. At about $40, it’s a bit more expensive than some other offerings, but the kickstand on the back certainly makes up for that in my book. This is a fantastic case for anyone that likes to watch video on their iPhone 4.
