I once tried to ride a unicycle and it wasn't pretty. It took a week to get the feeling back in my nose. A new invention has surfaced called Solowheel and it is like a robotic unicycle and honestly, it makes me nervous. It's automated somehow though so you really don't have to balance thanks to a gyroscope.
The Solowheel has two foldable platforms that the rider can stand on and inside the thing are a 1000W motor and a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The Solowheel breaks down into a case for easy transportation.
The gyroscopic system allows the rider to steer the thing to the left and right by leaning and the driving range on a full charge is about two hours. A full recharge needs 45-minutes. The device also captures energy when going down hills to recharge the battery and extend the run time. The people riding it remind me of the Jetson's robot housekeeper.
