Today is Apple products delay rumor day. Earlier we reported that the iPad 2 is possibly delayed until June. Now an analyst with FBR Capital Markets warns that the Apple iPhone 5 is delayed until September. According to Business Insider, Craig Berger informed in a note today that there are supply issues with casings and touch panels.
Update:
New reports say that iPad 2 and iPhone 5 are not delayed.
Berger also sees chip component orders still in flux as Apple has not firmed up orders for them, making a June release date for the iPhone 5 unlikely. Apple is supposed to plan to build 100 million iPhones in 2011. Though, I don't see how Apple would sell 100 million iPhones in 2011 if they start in September and not in June.
The iPhone 5 is expected to run on the new Apple A5 CPU, a larger 4-inch screen, possibly NFC and a dualmode GSM/CDMA communication chip.
How and when the rumored low-priced iPhone fits into the iPhone release schedule is not clear. The rumors of a smaller iPhone nano have died again and were replaced by the budget iPhone that could be free in the United States with contract.
