iPhone 4 case with extra screen protection

Today I am looking at a new case from iSkin for the iPhone 4 called the iSkin revo4 SE. This case is made from silicon and has a hard visor that you can see through to protect the screen from damage. If you want a case with lots of screen protection that is less bulky the iSkin revo4 may be perfect.

Specifications

The iSkin revo4 SE that I am looking at today is just like the normal revo4 case with the exception of a touch zone on the screen visor that aligns with the unlock bar to allow you to answer calls without having to move the visor. The case is made from silicon and the visor is made from a plastic material and can store on the back of the case. iSkin ships the case with a screen protection film and a cleaning cloth. The SE case sells for $44.99.

In Use

My iSkin revo4 SE was renegade red and it's certainly an eye-catching color combo. You can get the case in pink, grey, yellow, and black as well. The big feature of the silicon case is the visor for the screen that prevents the screen of your iPhone from being damaged if you drop it. The SE version of the revo4 is the only version of the case that has the special touch zone on the bottom of the visor. That touch zone is the only section of the visor that allows you to work the touchscreen.

The reason for that touch zone is so you can unlock the phone and answer calls. None of the other touchscreen functions on the phone will work with the Visor in place. The visor is easy to remove though since it only uses friction to hold it on the case.

The iSkin revo4 SE is designed with a small recessed area on the back that allows the user to flip the visor around to the back of the case when they need full screen use. The case has a silicone flap that plugs into the charge and sync port to prevent dirt and debris from getting inside. The big downside to that flap is that it gets in the way when I try to dock the iPhone on my alarm clock at the bedside.

The silicone that is used in the case is hypoallergenic and will keep you from causing any issues from touching the antenna with your hand. The silicone is safe and has no harsh chemicals in it. The silicon is very stretchy and fits the iPhone 4 snugly. The material will do a good job of absorbing shocks, but it won't be the most protective case on the market. The camera and controls are accessible and easy to use with the case installed.

The iSkin revo4 SE case is an interesting option for the user that fears cracking the screen of their iPhone 4, but doesn't fear damage enough for one of the seriously rugged cases on the market.
