iPad 2 to ship next Weekend?

Apple is announcing the new iPad 2 on Wednesday.

Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 on Wednesday in a media event in San Francisco. Last year Apple announced the original iPad in late January. By early March you could pre-order the Tablet and it started shipping at the beginning of April. This time around we might not have to wait that long for the iPad. AppleInsider reports that the new iPad 2 would already be on the way to stores during the keynote. This means the new iPad 2 could be in stores by next weekend.

I have set my mind on getting an iPad 2 and I totally hate waiting. On the other hand there have been several reports about supply issues Apple is facing, but maybe they are all wrong. AppleInsider says the iPad 2 availability information is from a solid source.

The new iPad 2 is expected to feature two cameras for FaceTime, faster CPU, better GPU, more RAM and thinner body. Apple is likely supporting Verizon with a CDMA enabled iPad 2.

On a related point. Did anybody buy a Motorola Xoom this week? The reviews have been pretty positive.
