Today I am looking at the Monster ClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker 100. You can use this small Bluetooth speaker for music playback and as a hands free kit in the car or at your desk. Read on for all of the details on the Monster ClarityHD.
The Monster ClarityHD uses Bluetooth 2.0 and has a 3.5mm headphone port on the back for devices that don't have Bluetooth. The device has an internal rechargeable battery and charges via USB. The Monster ClarityHD works with the iPhone and you can purchase the Monster ClarityHD now for $119.95.
The Monster ClarityHD I was sent was the black version, there is a silver one as well. I tested the Monster ClarityHD with my iPhone 4 and things worked as expected. To sync the Monster ClarityHD you hold down the power button until the three LEDs on the front alternate flashing red and blue. My iPhone recognized the speaker right away and synced with no issues at all. The Monster ClarityHD should work with just about any Bluetooth device out there.
Out of the box, my Monster ClarityHD wasn't charged. The good news is that you can use it while it charges via USB. The design and shape of the speaker reminds me more than a little of a travel alarm clock. It’s compact enough to fit on your desk or in your bag without taking up much space. Monster says that you can use the thing in the car, but since it doesn't come with a mount of any sort, it would be hard to use comfortably in a car I think.
The Monster ClarityHD ships with the charge cable and comes with a soft carry pouch as well. The side of the Monster ClarityHD has the controls for power, phone call answer and end as well as volume and track .The controls worked perfectly with my iPhone 4.
The microphone works well making you easy to hear and the speaker does a good job with the audio from the person you are talking with. This is a great little speaker phone for use at a desk so you don’t have to hold the phone to your ear.
When it comes time to listen to music, the Monster ClarityHD sounds good. It’s impressive to get the levels of bass the Monster ClarityHD can muster out of such a small speaker. Bass is nice and deep with good mid and high range sounds as well. Overall, the Monster ClarityHD has well rounded sound and lots of volume. You can play your music from the Monster ClarityHD and fill the room with the little speakers output. The wireless range is about 30 feet so you can move around with your phone in your pocket while listening.
The Monster ClarityHD is a very nice little speaker even if it is too big for use in many cars. The ClarityHD sounds good and works well as a speakerphone for deskbound users.
