Apple unveils the new iPad 2 today. Do not expect something revolutionary.
The day is here. Apple unveils the new iPad 2 today. The new iPad 2 is going to be what the iPhone 3GS was to the iPhone 3G more or less. This is the consent of the more legit and recent rumors. The iPad S is faster, thinner and has FaceTime Cameras. That is it more or less it. Apple just doesn't have to do anything else to keep the competition away.
The original iPad did not convince me. Especially not with the old iOS version. A faster and lighter iPad will be more attractive especially with the current iOS and more content (e.g. Magazine subscriptions). Another important factor will be the cloud based services Apple is supposed to finally launch. MobileMe and iTunes in the cloud could again push the competition back a year or more.
That the iPad 2 is not revolutionary has been rumored before. Cult of Mac has it from an Apple Staffer that the iPad 2 is more or less a speed bump and the iPad 3 expected this fall is the one that will "change again everything."

About the Geek Mind
The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
