iPad 2 International Launch not delayed despite Shortage

As reported the iPad 2 has been in very short supply in the United States since its launch. Online orders of the iPad 2 take 4-5 weeks to ship and Apple Stores still see very long lines if word gets out of new inventory.

There was some concern that Apple would postpone the March 25th scheduled launch of the iPad 2 in 25 other countries. Today though, Apple confirmed that the iPad 2 will launch internationally as planned. The question now is how much iPad 2 stock will be available in each of the 25 countries? Apple cannot make enough iPads for their home turf as it is. I expect extremely limited stock in Europe and other parts of the world the iPad 2 launches.

If you want an iPad 2 launch I recommend that you be awake at 1am to order one online. As with the US launch, Apple Stores will start selling the iPad 2 at 5pm. You better start camping out in front of an Apple Store today if you want an iPad 2 before the weekend.

Pricing and Availability of the iPad 2 Internationally
iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK on March 25th for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad 2 will be available in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and additional countries in April, and in many more countries around the world in the coming months. Further international availability and pricing will be announced at a later date.
