Specifications

The Wrapsol Ultra Protective film is custom cut for installation on the AT&T iPhone 4 and a version of the films for the Verizon iPhone 4 is offered. The films include a microfiber towel for wiping away fingerprints, a squeegee and the instructions. The film is applied dry and the price is $29.99.

In Use

The Wrapsol Ultra Protective film is crystal clear and doesn't change the light out put of your iPhone 4 like some matte films can. That means the image on your screen is bright and clear no matter where you watch. This film is designed to be applied dry. Other films of this type need a liquid for install and getting liquid on my iPhone never sat well with me.

The way Wrapsol makes the film gives the user little tabs to hold to keep fingerprints off the sticky side of the film. The films pieces are stick to a backing and the large front and back films have tabs on the top to hold that are torn off after installation.

I had a bit of a hard time getting the protective layer over the top of the film to peel off once I had it installed. I ended up peeling up the bottom portion of the Wrapsol Ultra Protective film trying to remove the over layer. The tabs tear off easily after the installation though and the film can be repositioned.

Wrapsol claims that this film will protect your iPhone for drops. I don’t see that happening at all so use this film along with a case. The back film installs just as the front film did. The side pieces were the most tedious to install.

You have to align them just right to prevent any overhangs and to prevent blocking any of the controls on your phone partially. The squeegee helps you to get air bubbles out from under the film. I had to work the screen for a few minutes to get rid of all the air bubbles.

Verdict

Pros

  • Dry install
  • Ears to hold during install

Cons

  • Hard to peel backing from film
  • Don't count on drop protection claims

Conclusion

Overall, the Wrapsol Ultra Protective film works well for keeping your screen and other parts of your iPhone 4 clean and scratch free and the installation is easy.
