Apple just took down the online store to prepare the launch of the white iPhone 4. The company has announced the white iPhone 4 sales start yesterday. It is not expected that Apple will launch any other new product today. The 2011 iMac with Thunderbolt ports are likely to go on sale next week.
The run on the white iPhone 4 is considered to trigger another sell-out within a day. Mind you that the white iPhone 4 is no different to the black iPhone 4. It is just about the color. But of course it is the only new iPhone on the block. The iPhone 5 is still expected for a Fall launch.
Why is the white iPhone 4 important:
Apple is having strong iPhone sales around the globe with sales of 18.65 million units (up 113% compared to the year-ago quarter). The white iPhone 4 will kick the iPhone 4 sales up even further holding Apple over the summer. This leaves room for Android to capture more market share, but it will not be dramatic and not dangerous to Apple.
White iPhone 4 Availability:
White models of iPhone 4 will be available in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and the US, beginning Thursday, April 28 and in many more countries around the world soon. White iPhone 4 will be available for a suggested retail price of $199 (US) for the 16GB model and $299 (US) for the 32GB model with a new two year agreement through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), at Apple’s retail stores, AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
