Apple 10th Anniversary Apple Store Secret Unveiled?

As reported over the last few days Apple is showing secret activity at Apple Stores around the globe. Rumors about Apple launching an NFC Payment system or a new product abound. Now AppleInsider possibly has info on the real new thing that is coming to the Apple Store: iPad 2 tablets with new RetailMe software for Apple staffers.

Sources report that Apple Stores got dozens of iPad 2 tablets that are prepared for employee usage. The new iPad 2 could replace the iPod touch-based EasyPay terminals introduced two years ago.

The switch from iPod touch to the iPad is obviously not really exciting news. There has been talk about Apple Stores putting up curtains for a visual change. I do not think that would be necessary for this. So the hope is still alive that Apple will be doing more to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Apple Store retail chain.

Update:
More details about Apple Store 2.0 surfaced.
