The rumors about Apple Store 2.0 have been proven true. The Apple Stores opened up today with several changes. The first impressions came from Australia. As rumored all Apple product displays now have an interactive display powered by the iPad 2 next to it. You can use the iPad 2 to learn about the product and also call assistance. MacStories has a bunch of photos showing the new product displays. The iPad 2 product displays are protected from being messed with. These display iPads run special software.
9to5Mac got some tips from Apple Store employees about the new gear.
Apple is also going to release a new Apple Store App tomorrow with support for custom orders.
The rumor about the NFC payment system did not materialize, but the cool new payment provider Square might be entering the Apple Store. Square announced a media briefing for tomorrow promising exciting news according to 9to5Mac. It is assumed that Square will power the iPad payment terminals in the Apple Stores. We will know more about it tomorrow.
