PocketNow got a hold of several product shots of the Padfone ahead of the official announcement expected Monday. The photos show that the Android phone docks in the back of the tablet in a covered compartment. Basically you can hid a phone inside the Padfone tablet and pull it out James Bond style.
We do not have details yet on how the Padfone works, but from the photos it is clear that the Android Phone is the "heart" of the tablet running the Android system. Asus also uses the phone camera as back camera in tablet mode. The front camera seems to be built into the tablet dock.
If the Padfone will find many buyers remains to be seen. The phone compartment adds bulk to the tablet, which makes it look less sleek.
The Asus Padfone is official.
