Asus takes the next generation Asus Eee PC back into the right direction - under $200. This is the price segment no decent tablet can touch. At the $199 price the new Asus Eee PC X101 will run MeeGo. The Asus Eee PC X101 is slated to be the first mass market MeeGo device. And I already though MeeGo is dead.
The Asus MeeGo netbook features a 10.1-inch LED backlight display, up to 2GB RAM, 8GB SSD, 0.3MP camera, 802.11n Wifi and Intel Atom 435 CPU.
There will also be a Windows 7 version of the X101, dubbed Asus Eee PC X101H that comes with a 250GB or 320GB HDD instead of the 8GB SSD. The price for the X101H is expected to be above $199. When the new Asus X101 netbooks go on sale has not been announced. Via the Asus blog.
