We just reported about new AirPort Extreme and new Time Capsule rumors last week. Now 9to5Mac got a tip that contains the new model numbers for a new AirPort Extreme and two new Time Capsules. Additionally the 2011 AirPort Extreme device got spotted at the FCC. We should be very close to see the release of this new Apple accessories, maybe even this week.
Apple will offer a new larger Time Capsule with 3TB storage. The 2TB will stay and it seems the 1TB Time Capsule is not part of the new line-up anymore. Apple is also supposed to lower pricing on the three new devices. The new model numbers are:
MD031LL/A - Airport Extreme 802.11n (5G)
MD032LL/A - Time Capsule 2TB (4G)
MD033LL/A - Time Capsule 3TB (4G)
One of the new features rumored is software update caching. This is only useful for larger groups and not for home users. The new Airport Extreme might support the three-stream standard for 450Mbps over 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz according to Engadget.
Update:
Apple has silently updated the Time Capsule page with 3TB option.
