Amazon's Jeff Bezos already confirmed that an Amazon Tablet is coming. A new rumor from Taiwanese component makers puts the relase of the Amazon tablet already in August or September. The target of global sales is supposed to be 4 million in 2011 according to Digitimes.
According to this report the Amazon tablet uses a Texas Instrument CPU and will offer streaming movie services. The choice of CPU contradicts a rumor that has surfaced last month which said that the Amazon Coyote Tablet would adopted the NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU. Another Amazon tablet with code-name Hollywood would adopt the unreleased NVIDIA Kal-E.
Amazon has the content eco-system and cloud services in place to effectively compete with Apple. Amazon also has collected tremendous experience with the Kindle device. I am pretty sure they know how to do a tablet right that can rattle the domination of the Apple iPad.
