Foxconn was the sole maker of the iPad so far. Apple is rumored to change that.
Foxconn has manufactured the iPad for Apple so far. According to Digitimes this might change for the iPad 3. Apple is rumored to add another maker for the iPad 3, hopefully reducing the supply shortage experienced with the iPad 2.
Quanta Computer and Petagron Technology are supposed candidates to receive iPad 3 orders. The Digitimes report reiterates the rumor of an iPad 2 Plus to be released in the 3rd quarter of this year.
As reported the iPad 2 Plus aka iPad HD is thinner and has a higher resolution display. The iPad HD is supposed to be marketed to the professional market. I don't buy this rumor yet as outlined here. i just do not think Apple it is worth for Apple to release an iPad HD as a high-end iPad. It is of course possible, but the marketing and the positioning around this new iPad HD must be razor sharp to not confuse consumers.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
