Apple will release its Q3 FY11 earnings on July 19th at 2pm PDT. As the earnings call moves closer we will see more and more reports about what Apple will unveil. AppleInsider reports that analyst Brian White with Ticonderoga Securities predicts record sales of the iPad with 8.5m units sold. The iPhone sales number for Q3 is supposed to be 17.53m units.
Apple never has sold that many iPads in a quarter. As the supply shortage eases, it is possible that Apple managed to reach a new record iPad sales milestone. The iPhone sales number would be lower than the one last quarter. At some point the effect of the upcoming release of the iPhone 5 is kicking in. I for one hold off to upgrade to the iPhone 4, despite my iPhone 3GS contract is up for renewal. I do not see the point to get an iPhone 4 now, if I can have a brand new subsidized iPhone 5 in about 2-3 months.
