The voice activated feature based on the Siri acquisition will be called Assistant.
There was a lot of talk about a voice activated feature to be available in iOS 5 earlier this year. The feature would be based on the intelligent voice activated assistant service Siri developed. Apple bought that company last year. Then a partnership with Nuance came into play. Apple has though never announced anything in that area.

Now 9to5Mac has received a screenshot of a setting dialog found in a test version of iOS that shows a feature called Assistant. 9to5Mac did also discover some deep anchors of a voice activated service into the operating system that point to extremely powerful possibilities for the Assistant feature. The Apple Assistant could by itself set up a movie night with a friend by checking into the contact list and calendar of you and your friend.

There is promise that Assistant would be really useful, but this also lets me believe we will not see it this fall when iOS 5 gets released. I think this feature will take still more time to finish. Maybe it comes with an update end of the year.
