The Asus Eee PC X101 is going to revitalize the netbook segment. It is priced under $199 and its thin (17.6mm) sleak design makes it a great buy. Features of the MeeGo running X101 include 10.1-inch LED Backlight WSVGA (1,024x600px) screen, Intel Atom N435 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB SSD, 2GB DropBox cloud storage, Wifi 802.11n, Bluetooth V3.0, 0.3MP Camera and a 3-cell battery (4 hour).
The Asus Eee PC X101 comes in white, red and brown. We expect the Asus Eee PC X101 to start shipping in September. Asus has now published a full product page for the X101 here.
This new netbook is ideal as first computer for kids or if you just need a portable computer to surf the web and check your email. At $199 you almost cannot go wrong. Of course we should still wait for the first reviews to see if MeeGo is usable and not stands in the way. For what we know the Asus Eee PC X101 will be the first MeeGo device on the market.
