Apple's iPad shipment growth is seen at 55% for 2012 and Android Tablets are supposed to grow by 134%.
Is 2012 the year in that iPad competitor get close to the iPad in terms of market share? A new report at Digitimes says so. According to market watchers Android tablets grow shipments by 134% in 2012. Apple's iPad shipments are only growing by 55% says the report. Still Apple would ship about 10 million more iPads than Android tablets in 2012. It would mean though that Android tablets would dramatically grow in 2012.

The drivers for the growth are the new Tegra 3 (Kal-El) CPU and the new Ice Cream Sandwich Android release. Both are supposed to already debut in fall of 2011 in several Android tablets. I just do not see why these two aspects would change anything dramatically. The iPad success is not just about the device. It is about the complete experience including apps, media, iCloud and even things like the Apple TV (AirPlay). Some Android makers are already buying up Cloud service providers. They know what is missing. Actually Google should provide the ACloud, but for some reason that is not happening. Everything is there already, but not packaged and integrated into Android. Guess everybody is locked up in Google+ development.
