As reported over the weekend, the Acer Iconia A500 HoneyComb Android tablet is on sale at Target Stores this week for the reduced price of $399 and free $100 gift card. This sale marks the kick-off of many more Android Tablet price-cuts to come in the next weeks and during the Black Friday sales season. Taiwanese supply chain news site Digitimes reports today that most Android Tablet makers face weaker sales compared to their ordered volume.
This means tablet makers have to clear inventories ahead of the next generation of Android tablets (Ice Cream Sandwich). According to the report the first wave of price-cuts comes end of September and the next one during the holiday season. I already predicted HoneyComb tablet prices to be below $350 during Black Friday on our new Black Friday Countdown site back in July. Having seen the Acer Iconia A500 Target deal mentioned above, I actually think we see definitely prices below $300 during Black Friday 2011 for current generation HoneyComb tablets.
Apple can still sell the iPad 2 at the full price as demand is seen to stay strong during the Holiday season. You can expect modest savings again on the actual Black Friday (When is Black Friday?) in the Apple Black Friday 2011 sale.
We will keep you of course informed on I4U News on the best Tablet deals. Check out the current tablet deals on Amazon.
