As reported yesterday, HP decided to sell all remaining HP TouchPadwebOStablets for only $99.99. This comes after the announcement that HP is not making any webOS devices anymore. The hunt after the $99.99 TouchPad deal is on since yesterday. BestBuy said initially that they will not offer the TouchPad at the $99.99 price, but they now changed gears and do sell them.
I just checked (7:45am ET) and the 16GB TouchPad is in stock online on BestBuy.com with the $99.99 price-tag. The $149.99 32GB HP TouchPad is also still in stock on BestBuy.com.
Earlier this week we reported that Best Buy is sitting on over 200,000 HP TouchPads. It will be interesting to see how fast and if Best Buy is selling through that huge pile of TouchPads.
For under $100 the HP TouchPad is by far the best tablet deal available right now. If you need a tablet to check email and surf the web the HP TouchPad is more than you need. The only down-side is that the app eco-system is likely to die out. If you are lucky though, the HP promises to keep webOS alive and also the webOS app eco-system you actually won sort of the lottery. Clearly the HP TouchPad is not the hottest hardware, but the $99.99 price is making it a killer tablet deal.
Update 1: 30 minutes after posting this story, both TouchPads are now marked as sold out. Congrats to the lucky readers who read I4U News during their Sunday Breakfast. Keep on checking the links above, maybe Best Buy unleashes more inventory online. The other idea is to head over to your local Best Buy store.

Deion Sanders' School Opens Despite Losing Charter
Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders' Prime Prep Academy in Fort Worth, Tex. opened this week despite its location -- in a shopping center across an adult shop -- being disapproved and losing its charter.
The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
