The Amazon Electronics bestseller list had basically the same ranking over the last years on the top. There was the Kindle eBook reader dominating followed by other Kindle models. This has changed over the weekend. Now the HP TouchPad tablets are on top. After HP announced to stop making webOS devices the launched a fire sale for the TouchPad inventory. The 16GB TouchPad goes for $99.99 and the 32GB TouchPad for $149.99. This new pricing set of a buying frenzy across the nation.
I actually never saw a HP Tablet listed on Amazon for $99.99 over the weekend, but it must have existed plenty as it ranks as #1 bestseller. Interestingly, Amazon is also supposed to launch a Tablet this fall. Will it beat the Kindle and become the #1 bestseller on Amazon? It better does, to have a chance on beating the Apple iPad. Amazon is indeed rumored to be aggressive on the price. The Amazon Tablet will though not be priced at $99.99.
In this earlier report we look at some of the options to get your hands on the $99 HP Tablet. Retailers start to increase the price to make a little extra cash on the high demand for the TouchPad.
