New iPhone 5 is really just an iPhone 4S according to Analyst

New Research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that there is no evidence in the supply chain that the new iPhone 5 will look any different from the iPhone 4.

In case you got your hopes up over the last months that the new iPhone 5 will be featuring a totally new design, you should brace yourself. A new report over at MacRumors says that there is no sign in the supply chain according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that Apple has changed the iPhone design for the iPhone 5. This would mean that Apple is only improving performance such as CPU, RAM, Camera resolution and connectivity (CDMA + GSM). Kuo says that the N94 moniker that we have often heard refers to the only new iPhone to be released this year.

This would mean the rumors about Apple releasing two new iPhones are also false. The iPhone rumor mill started to describe to different iPhones driving to the conclusion that Apple will reveal actually a premium iPhone 5 with a new design and a cheaper iPhone 4 model.

The report confirms that the iPhone 5 aka iPhone 4S will start shipping by mid-October.

This new report just confirms for me that we just do not know one thing about the new iPhone 5. The only thing I know is that I reserved an iPhone 5, whatever it may be.
