End of August HPannounced that they are making more HP TouchPads and sell them for the $99 fire sale price. As soon as HP set the price of the HP TouchPad to $99.99 it was a hard to find item. Consumers have been willing to pay over $200 in the weeks since the fire sale began. Many are no waiting for the final HP TouchPad batch that HP has announced. The reason why HP is building more TouchPads and sell them at a loss is likely heaps of component inventory in the supply chain.
HP did not reveal an exact date when the new HP TouchPad tablets would go on sale on the HP Store, but today we got a hint thanks to a leaked internal HP email. TechCrunch reports that HP is offering the $99.99 HP TouchPad in the Employee Purchasing Program on September 28. I assume that consumers will get what is left after the internal sale in the days after that day.
As you can get over $200 for a 16GB TouchPad I assume a lot of HP employees will jump on the offer. I never expected HP to offer a lot of newly produced TouchPads, but I did not take into consideration that there is an employee purchasing program as well. This means likely that there are only a handful TouchPads that will be available again on the HP Online Store end of September.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
