Earlier we reported that a video appeared demoing Ice Cream Sandwich on a Nexus S. Now we most likely see the official unveiling of Ice Cream Sandwich on October 11. According to TechCrunch, Google and Samsung invited the press to an event on October 11 in New York. The topic is Android. It is expected that we will see the Nexus Prime with Ice Cream Sandwich at the event.
The Nexus Prime is expected to be the new flagship Android phone packing 4G and a large screen. Samsung has unveiled this week the Galaxy S2 HD LTE in Korea. The Nexus Prime should be not that far off spec-wise. The S2 HD LTE has a 4.65-inch screen with a 1,280x720px resolution.
The Samsung Mobile Unpacked event takes place in San Diego exactly one week after Apple unveils the iPhone 5 on October 4. At this point it is actually not expected that Google is able to top Apple with Ice Cream Sandwich, but maybe we are in for a surprise. AAmazon also surprised yesterday with the Kindle Fire that is way better than expected and also is priced lower than predicted.
