Earlier today we reported that Sprint is committing $20 billion to iPhone purchases over the next 4 year. At least this is what the Wall Street Journal is reporting. This still sounds somewhat believable. Sprint needs to iPhone to compete with AT&T and Verizon. BGR is adding a wild toping to this rumor. They report that they got told that Sprint is getting the iPhone 5 exclusive. It would be a 4G WiMAX device.
The iPhone 5 would have a faster CPU than the A5, a larger 4-inch screen, and more. Globally the iPhone 5 would be sold as HSPA+ device. In Q1 of 2012, Apple would then release an LTE 4G iPhone 5 to be offered by Verizon and AT&T.
In my mind this will not happen at all. As reported before, I am now at the point that there will be no iPhone 5 in 2011. The only thing we get tomorrow is an iPhone 4S.
