I have been actually waiting for the fire sale of the Motorola Xoom to start any time soon. We expect the new Xoom 2 with the Tegra Kal-El CPU around Black Friday 2011. Motorola is instead repackaging the current Xoom aiming at families. The Xoom Family Edition Tablet has half of the storage of the regular Xoom. 16GB should though still be enough for most users. Besides that the Xoom Family Edition is identical to the regular Xoom.
The Motorola XOOM Family Edition comes pre-loaded with almost $40 worth of applications and also features the award-winning Kid Zone by Zoodles that locks the home button and allows your kids to only access the content you deem acceptable, like educational games and movies.
You can buy the Motorola Xoom Family Edition now on Best Buy for $379. The standard 32GB Xoom is selling for $474 on Amazon.
If you are still waiting for the release of new $99 HP TouchPads, there is still no word from HP if the bargain tablets are still going to be on sale again the HP online store.
