Leaked Photos Show PS3 Black Friday Bundles

Sony reportedly planning its own Black Friday deal

It looks like Sony wants to force its way into the Black Friday craze by launching new PS3 bundles to retailers potentially on that major shopping holiday.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when retailers offer deep discounts in a bid to jumpstart their holiday shopping season. The day is usually all about retailers; it's not generally when new products or bundles from manufacturers are released.

However, it appears Sony wants to ensure that it gets prime space on the Black Friday flyers by launching a new PS3 "Complete Entertainment Bundle." According to the leaked data obtained by Engadget, invoices for the bundle suggest a release date on or around the day after Thanksgiving.

The bundle includes a 160 GB PS3 system, a controller, and the games Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and Little Big Planet 2, as well as a free month of the premium Playstation Plus service.

Another bundle that was revealed is called the "Mayhem Edition" Playstation Move package, which includes the shooter games Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 along with the motion-sensitive Sharpshooter peripheral.

Video games are usually not the source of attention on Black Friday, as they have historically low margins and it does no good to retailers to discount them on a shopping day where they don't need loss leaders to lure in customers.
