We have already reported several times that the iPhone 5 coming in 2012 will support 4G LTE. A new report today on the supply chain news site Digitimes reiterates that expectation. The report also says that Sprint will launch 15 LTE devices in mid-2012. Sprint is also now offering the iPhone and has announced plans to roll-out an LTE network. Sprint has bet its 4G future on WiMAX before.
Right now Android rules LTE smartphones. Apple and also Microsoft are still absent and both are expected to adopt LTE next year. The iPhone 5 was, according to rumors, the last project Steve Jobs worked on before his death. Besides LTE expect a new design.
