The iPhone 4S is now about 2 weeks on the market and tons of reports appear about battery drain. Most reports revolve around lower battery life compared to iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S is supposed to have a superior battery life. There are though also many reports of severe battery drain and over heating.
Apple has supposed make this a priority to fix and contacted iPhone 4S users to provide more detail and install monitoring software according to The Guardian. The latest suspision is that a bug in the location services is to blame says this report on The Guardian. This is not official yet and Apple has not responded yet. The iPhone 4 also had battery issues when it came out.
I actually do not notice an issue with my iPhone 4S. I was used to the 3GS I owned before and its battery life was not great to begin with. According to the specifications of the iPhone 4S you are supposed to get up to 200 hours standby time. That is about 8 days. I clearly do not get even close.
Update:
Apple officially acknowledges iPhone 4S battery problem. The company says an iOS 5 update in a few weeks will solve the issues.
