LaCie has been making all sorts of storage products big and small for years. The company offers single disk external storage solutions for the home user with one notebook. The company also makes some massive storage systems that are rack mountable for business users and enterprise customers.

LaCie has unveiled its latest big server for the business types called the 12big Rack Storage Server. This device is made for high performance and uses SAS drives inside. It has NAS to NAS replication, will work with Windows, and has native Mac compatibility too. There are four capacities offered for the new 12big.

The 9TB version sells for $11,299, the 12TB sells for $11,999, the 24TB version is $14,999, and the 36TB version will cost $17,999. The storage server has a quad core Intel Xeon processor inside, 4GB of RAM, and can support 250 users. It also has five free PCIe slots for expansion and has a hardware RAID controller.
