The first Android 4.0 device is here. Verizon started the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus today. The Galaxy Nexus puts you back $299.99 with a 2-yr contract. Amazon Wireless is offering the Galaxy Nexus for $199.99, but is backordered.
The Galaxy Nexus features a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display technology at 720p resolution and a 1.2GHz dual core processor. The GALAXY Nexus is the first smartphone to feature a 4.65-inch display with a resolution of 720p (1280×720px).
Other features of the GALAXY Nexus include 4G LTE, 5MP Camera (why not 8MP?), 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB Storage, and a 1,750mAh battery. Measurements of the GALAXY Nexus are 135.5x67.94x8.94mm and the weight is 135g.
Succeeding the original Contour Display of Nexus S, GALAXY Nexus comes with a rounded shape that fits within your palm or to your face for phone calling. Hyper-skin backing on the battery cover improves the ergonomic feel of the device and makes the phone slip-resistant. At just 8.94mm thick, with a minimal 4.29mm bezel, GALAXY Nexus still provides portability alongside an expansive screen.
