Notebooks might be what most folks go for today but there is still a market for the desktop and AIO computer. There are more AIOs coming out lately than normal desktops though. When it comes to the AIO the most popular by far is the iMac.
DisplaySearch reports that out of the 14.5 million AIO computer sold in 2011 33% of them were the Apple iMacs. The iMac is the top selling desktop for Apple with more units sold than the Mac Pro and the Mac mini. The next closest AIO competitor was Lenovo and HP was third with 21.4% of the market.
HP may shake the market up a bit with the new Omni27, but I doubt it will displace the iMac. People buy the iMac for more than a computer alone. Lots of geeks also buy them to show off since the designs are so cool.
