Volkswagen has already raised a ton of interest for the Volkswagen Super Bowl 2012 Ad featuring the 2012 Beetle with a teaser video that has now already 7.3million views on Youtube. The Bark Side features a chorus of dogs barking a Star Wars theme. The ad is raising huge expectations for the actual Volkswagen Super Bowl 2012 Ad. The New York Times reports that the Volkswagen Super Bowl 2012 commercial will be released on February 1, four days ahead of the Super Bowl XLVI.
Volkswagen has also released the 2011 Super Bowl Ad titled The Force, several days before the Big Game. The article also reveals the first screen grab from the Volkswagen Super Bowl 2012 ad. The image shows some aliens in a bar that looks like the Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina from Star Wars. What characters form Star Wars will be in the cantina? And how does this scene fit into an ad about the 2012 Beetle? Will there be a Beetle Pod race? Yes, Please! Watch the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Pod Race below.
All we know is that Volkswagen is again running a Super Bowl ad with a Star Wars theme. George Lucas gets again handed a big bag of gold for his Star Wars franchise. I really would like to know what Volkswagen has to pay to use Star Wars in their ads. I assume the cost for the ad slot on the NBC Super Bowl broadcast is small compared to the Star Wars license fee.

The Super Bowl 2012 is taking place in Indianapolis on February 5th, 2012. Just like last year, I4U News will be featuring again the Super Bowl for Geeks Guide. Of course the Super Bowl 2011 for Geeks Guide will be all about the Super Bowl Commercials and not the game. For even more Super Bowl 2012 Ads coverage visit our new Super Bowl Ads Blog.
