EA CEO John Riccitiello has offered up some insight into how many copies of Mass Effect 3 sold during its first 24 hours of availability. The CEO estimated that EA moved 890,000 copies in the first 24 hours available in North America. The game launched a few days later in Europe so some numbers weren't available.
Riccitiello did note that EA had shipped about 3.5 million copies of the game retailers. I can say after spending a little time playing the game that it is truly awesome.
