Man faces up to 100 years in prison

A former engineer from Intel named Biswamohan Pani has pled guilty to five charges of fraud in US District Court in Massachusetts. The man worked for Intel back in 2008 and had turned in his notice to accept a position with AMD. What Intel didn't know was that while the man had access to its computer systems he was already employed with AMD.

The man downloaded documents Intel says are worth about $1 billion and had to do with the design and construction of microprocessors. The man had apparently hoped to use the documents in his position at AMD. Both Intel and AMD are cooperating in the investigation and there is no indication that AMD asked the man to steal the documents or used the stolen information.
