The Coachella festival had a big surprise guest. Tupac Shakur, who is dead since 15 years appeared on stage and performed "Hail Mary."
MTV has a report with some details on how the Tupac Hologram came about. Dr. Dre is behind the project and hired Digital Domain Media Group to produce the Tupac hologram imagery. The Tupac Hologram was actually not real 3D hologram. A company called AV Concepts used a technology called Pepper's Ghost that dates back to the 19th century. A 2D image of Tupac was projected on an angled glass plate.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the Tupac Hologram is maybe going on tour.
