The release of Windows 8 is inspiring hardware makers to make lofty sales goals. According to Digitimes sources Intel internally estimates that Ultrabook sales will reach 20-30 million this year. This number is supposed to double or even triple in 2013.
A new wave of Ultrabooks is expected to launch in May, but most consumers will now wait for Windows 8 before they buy a new laptop. This means that the major sales will all happen in the last quarter of 2012. It will not be that easy to reach 30 million units by year end as the time window is short.
