Samsung Galaxy S III has Quad-Core CPU and Blazing Performance

Samsung will unveil the new Samsung Galaxy S III on May 3rd.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S III on May 3rd in London. Samsung did not officially say that, but it is expected that the Galaxy S III will be the highlight of the media event.

The new Galaxy S III is supposed to run on a 1.5Ghz Quad-Core Samsung Exynos CPU and feature a 4.8-inch screen with 16x9 aspect ratio. Additionally the Galaxy S III is supposed to come in two color variants. You will be able to choose between a black and blue model and a white Galaxy S3. The memory configuration options will be 16GB and 32GB.

The Verge has now confirmed with a source close to Samsung that indeed the Galaxy S III has a quad-core CPU and we should expect superlative benchmarks.

Samsung might opt for a different name for the new Galaxy S III. It is possible that Samsung will call it Galaxy HD, but based on the success of the Galaxy S II, I think it makes sense to stick with the numbers.
