Amazon is ready to take pitches for its own TV show production specifically for its Amazon Prime Instant Video service. Amazon is going to open up submissions to TV writers from all walks of life through its Amazon Studios unit. Amazon will take pitches and then open the concepts up members to vote on what it should pursue.
Show creators will get $10,000 from Amazon if Amazon options their submission. If the submissions are later turn into programs the writers get another $55,000 on top of a 5% cut of merchandise and royalties. Amazon is looking for comedies and kids TV shows to begin with.
