Foxconn CEO Terry Gou let slip during a meeting today that Foxconn is getting its facilities ready to start production of the long rumored Apple HDTV. According to Gou, development and manufacturing has not yet started. This marks the first time a high-level executive in any company has confirmed the existence of the Apple HDTV. Apple is still said nothing about the set.
I would have to think this will come back to hurt Gou since Apple is incredibly security sensitive. The TV has long been rumored to include Siri, an integrated camera, and access to the app store. The Steve Jobs biography had said that Steve Jobs had cracked a user-friendly TV. There's no indication when the set my launch, but some analysts believe 2014 is assumed as we would see it.
