The car isn't a traditional hybrid like a Prius. The R18 e-tron quattro doesn't have batteries and captures energy during specific braking zones around the racetrack using a flywheel system. That energy can then be delivered back to the front wheels of the vehicle to help acceleration at speeds above 120 km an hour.
