Tablets will outsell Desktop PCs in 2013 says Microsoft

Speaking at TechEd Europe in Amsterdam, Microsoft’s VP for Windows Web Services, Antoine Leblond said: "Next year, tablets will outsell desktop PCs." If true than Microsoft is in deep trouble as Apple owns the tablet market. Unless Windows 8 will trigger a miracle and Windows 8 tablets will push Android out of the way and catch up to Apple, a future where tablets outsell PCs is not ideal for Microsoft.

Microsoft entered the hardware game a couple weeks ago with the introduction of the Surface tablet computers. It is still not clear what these means for the whole Windows hardware industry.
