Vizio has announced the launch of its new 21:9 Cinemawide 3D TV. The TV has a much wider aspect ratio than the typical TV offers so it matches with the 2.35:1 aspect ratio used when filling Hollywood movies. What that means is when you watch a movie on Blu-ray, rather than having black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, the image takes up your entire TV screen.
The Vizio TV is also a smart TV with all the apps and Internet content you expect. The TV has a 2560 x 1080 screen resolution. The TV uses Edge Lit Razor LED technology and Smart Dimming. The 3D features of the TV use passive 3-D glasses, and four sets are included. A limited time introductory price for the Wi-Fi equipped TV is $2499 and it has a 58-inch wide screen.
