HTC recently won a patent battle over Apple in the UK when the British court ruled that it was not infringing on a patent Apple owns. The patent had to do with a multi-touchpad and the Apple believed HTC was infringing on. The court ruled that the patent was partly invalid due to "obviousness over common general knowledge" and ruled HTC didn't infringe on the patent at any rate.
The court also found that three Apple patents involved in the case were invalid including a patent for slide to unlock, multitouch, and a multilingual keyboard. Whether or not this ruling will affect Apple cases with other companies were in the US remains to be seen.
